History

Bromham Show has been in existence since just after the 2nd World War, when it first took place as the Bromham Flower Show in 1948. In its first forty years it was very much a traditional English village fete with the main focus being centred around flower, fruit and vegetable exhibits, with a selection of stalls providing additional interest for visitors and participants alike.

During the 1980’s and 1990’s the show developed into a much more family-based event with a wider range of activities to interest all ages.

As the show continued to grow, it was recognised that other fundraising events needed to be organised during the year. Hence an Autumn Craft Fair and an event in the Spring were added to the show committee calendar.

In 2006, for the first time, the Saturday and Sunday events were supplemented with a Friday evening Classical Concert to add yet another new dimension to the show weekend.

Bromham Show is now THE village event of the Bromham calendar and is highly valued by the village community and is the envy of surrounding villages in Bedfordshire.

With Bromham Show’s financial position having been secured during the 1990’s, the committee were able to start making donations to other charitable village-based organisations which were in turn struggling to survive.

The show continues to flourish, but we are always looking for additional support to help throughout the year and during show weekend in July. If you have time to offer we would love to hear from you. Please contact our show Chairman David Webb at enquiries@bromhamshow.com.
